It's Clear as Black and White at Cutting Line Designs

half moon

Shirts, shells, and tops are great for summer--just add sunshine.  They're especially useful if made in black and white as wardrobe basics.

Make a shell and layer a shirt over it.  Or make a shirt and layer a vest over it.  Or make a top and  . . . . .  (the possibilities are endless!).

I suggest these easy-to-wear designs:

Check the Patterns page for many more options.

Be comfy in high temps in these lightweight, cool fabrics.  Face it, you know you want some.

I love these together.  The featherweight Swiss cotton's dots are in circles, while the French cotton could be a shirt, a vest, or even pants.  (The photos don't show how good they are together.)

Italian linen and Japanese cotton--yum!  Both are top weights.  The linen is deep, dark black.

Map-printed cotton from Japan and linen/silk from France will guide you to a spectacular summer outfit.  Both top weights.

A perfect print for sewers in shirt weight cotton, with cotton dobby from Japan for a shell or vest.

White mini-pique for a versatile shirt, and cross-dyed linen as a lively option.  Top weights.

This week, the BLOG will add to the idea of wardrobe basics in black and white, with suggestions on how to move out from those two neutral colors.  Take a look at my garments and a seam finish option.

As always, keep an eye out for updates on the Events page.  How many of you will we see in Raleigh at the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo?
