Black and White Not So Basics at Cutting Line Designs

BLACK & WHITE ARE MORE THAN BASIC

The Blouse Perfected pattern             Danger Curves Ahead pattern             Ebb and Flow pattern

Here are more suggestions for your summer wardrobe:  a couple of shirts, a tunic and a shell, and 2 stylish tops.  Any of these garments would be comfortable in the lightweight fabrics we're featuring this week.  Then you could use the patterns in different fabrics when the weather cools.

If you haven't had time to look at the BLOG yet, take a few minutes to see how many ways you can amplify your wardrobe using 2 solid neutral colors, a print, and a couple of solid accent colors. I outlined a simple plan, so get your fabrics in hand and go for it!

Oh, I need to remind you that Threads Magazine has invited Louise to teach in New York on September 6 and 7.  This is quite an honor!  She will call on her extensive knowledge of fitting, so ladies can make their sewing even more individual and expressive.  It's called the Threads Experience.  Check it out!

Here are those luscious fabrics again:

Swiss cotton and black and white cotton from France.  The Swiss cotton is deep black and works beautifully with the French cotton.

How many combinations of garments can you think of from this group of fabrics?  I think you'd be surprised!  Remember that you can get ideas from the blog.

By the way, be sure to take a look at the Home Page.  One of our customers' favorite fabrics is back in the warehouse.  It's a lightweight cotton with a smooth finish, but the fun is in the print:  dress forms, pattern pieces, sewing terminology.  I've posted my Pick Stitch Perfect shirt again, so you can see this fabric made up.  Here's a quick peek:

We're working on our schedule for next year, so keep up with new developments on the Events page.
