Be More at Ease with Cutting Line Designs

BE CALM AND CREATIVE
All of us are working at home in some way.  Some are doing job-related work, some are taking care of--and teaching-- children, and some are supporting community projects.  All of us are staying in touch with friends and family.

BUT, is this the way you're thinking now?

It would be easy to slip into a pj routine, but I'm not sure that's so good for us.  Instead, how about a comfy top and pants to cheer up your daytime routine?

I'm talking about this top and pants:

       Go-To Top and One-Seam pants

The top is Louise's reinvention of the top in the Anything But Ordinary pattern. She calls it her Go-To Top.  It has a cute side vent, and the One-Seam Pants have hem darts.  A bit of design flash for these days when we need it.  (I made mine this week--can't wait to wear them!)

We're putting both patterns on sale this week, till 8 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, April 5.

And in this week's blog, part 1, I'm showing you how to alter the Anything But Ordinary pattern so you can make your own Go-To Top.  Part 1 is up now.  I'll also give you some tips in the blog, part 2, about sewing the top and the pants.

By the way, some of you may still have the older version of the One-Seam Pants pattern in your cabinet.  Check the envelope; if it doesn't match this new one, you may want to update.

The newer, revised version of the pattern has an updated sizing chart and instructions on tilting the waist (most women need this).  It also includes a new pocket, 2 sizes of hem darts, darts for the waist, and a button tab that extends across the front hems.

Ok, so now you need some fabric for your stay-at-home but looking-good outfit.  Louise chose some options for you--the first fabric of each pair is for pants, and the second is good for a top.

      linen      lightweight cotton from Italy

      cotton/lycra sateen      cotton/lycra

      linen      shirtweight cotton

      cotton whipcord     lightweight cotton

      cotton with pinstripes      cotton

These fabrics will be on sale till 8 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, April 5.  So go for it!!

And avoid frustration--order Thread to Match, elastic, Steam-a-Seam, pins, needles, a bodkin, or a Chalkoner.  And don't forget interfacing.  When you open your package, you'll be ready to sew.
