Timeless and Timely at Cutting Line Designs

ANCIENT METHODS AND MODERN LOOKS
    Asian design motifs

This week we're featuring cotton dobby weave fabrics from Japan.  Louise and I have sewn many garments from this pretty fabric, and we both love it.  It's all cotton, so it breathes and is comfortable.  We know that natural fibers are important to many of you too.

It's an interesting combination of old and new.  The weave is called a dobby.  It requires a device attached to the loom which allows warp threads (the ones that run lengthwise in the fabric) to be manipulated in groups.  Maybe you remember those potholders we all made as children where we wove one loop over another loop, then under the next one.  That's the most basic weave.  But a dobby weave allows a weft (crosswise) thread to go over or under groups of warp threads, creating surface texture.

Then the weft (crosswise) threads are inserted in groups as well, creating texture in the other direction.  So even simple designs have added interest.

But the dobby fabrics we offer have yet another dimension, featuring traditional motifs in updated designs and colorways.  They're the best of old and new.  Plus, they hardly wrinkle, and even after washing, they only need touching up.  No wonder we love them!

Let's take a look at these beauties.  All but three (brand new dobby prints) of these have been marked down--the reductions range from 20% to 50%.
These prices will remain in effect until 8 p.m. Eastern, Monday, November 2.

SHIPPING

We want to assure you that we fill all your orders and ship them within 24 hours of the time we receive them.  It seems that there are some delays with mail service at this time, both within the country and to other countries, so it may take a bit longer than usual for your orders to reach you.  However, we are doing our part to send them promptly.
