CLASSIC STYLE--VERSATILE & POLISHED

We're featuring 2 patterns this week.  In the first photo above, the model is wearing a pretty blue wool jacket and black wool pants from the My Swing Set pattern.  The second photo features a black and multi-colored shirt from The Blouse Perfected.

These 2 patterns can provide basic looks to build on as well as many variations.  The fabrics we're featuring this week will provide a good base to build on.

Both patterns are on sale until 8 p.m. Eastern on Monday, January 11.

And many of this week's fabrics are also on sale until 8p.m. Eastern on Monday, January 11.

This group of fabrics is especially good for jackets, a great basic in your closet.  Pair one with jeans or khakis for a casual look or with black pants for a business or dressy vibe.  You can brighten a black jacket with a scarf for color.  We've included a print and a beige plaid for additional inspiration.

This next group will make smart-looking pants that won't wrinkle and will anchor a wide variety of looks.  You can also make matching jackets or vests, then use the pair as a mix and match base.

By the way, to make your pants extra-warm and add a light layer between the wool and your skin, make a pant liner.  Check out Stitch to Style from December 15, 2019 to see how.

And of course you could add a jacket or vest from the wool/rayon knit "boiled wool" to expand your wardrobe even further.

The first black fabric in the next group is soft and will make great tops.  Pair with black pants, then top the outfit with a bright vest or jacket.

Of course, black and white is a classic pairing, so the white fabrics below will work well for you.  They are all the perfect weight for shirts.

You can try out your ideas for black and white outfits with our book called "Cutting Between the Lines", which includes all the CLD patterns as well as wardrobe planning information.  If you decide to make a "boiled wool" jacket, "Give a Little, Take a Little" will provide the detailed knowledge you need.

In more news this week, we want to let you know that the Sewing and Stitchery Expo, familiar to all of us as Puyallup, will take place on February 25-28.  It's a virtual show this year, and we'll be there!  For all the info, go to sewexpo.com and browse through the catalog.

I'll be teaching Wardrobe Planning twice, and we'll have 2 sessions of  a virtual store.  (I think I heard Louise saying something about special pricing!)  More info to follow---------------

And don't forget!  We've been taking inventory, and there are markdowns all over the website.  These are not sale prices in red.  They are permanent markdowns to the regular prices that you see in black type with each fabric.  Begin browsing on the Fabrics page, and have fun-----

FACEBOOK FORUM

So many of you have joined us for fun and learning on the Facebook ForumHowever, many of you who have said you want to join have not answered the 3 sewing-related questions.  We'd love to have each of you be able to get in, but that can't happen if you haven't answered the questions.  Please be sure to answer, because we'd like to know each of you.

SAMPLES

Please confine your sample requests to 3 per order
.  That allows us to give you the same prompt service you are used to.  Also, remember that if you ask for a sample of a fabric that's on sale, the sale may be over before the sample gets to you through the mail.

A REMINDER

If you are searching for a specific fabric on the website and you know the number of it, be sure to put a 5-digit number in the search box.  Examples:  00532 or 01379.  You don't need to include the letters (FF) with the numbers.

SHIPPING

We want to assure you that we fill all your orders and ship them quickly.  It seems that there are some delays with mail service at this time, both within the country and to other countries, so it may take a bit longer than usual for your orders to reach you.  However, we are doing our part to send them promptly.

Paypal at checkoutBy the way, we've heard that a few of you have thought that you had to have a PayPal account to order from us online. That's not the case. Even though you'll see "Proceed to PayPal" on one of the order pages, just click on it to go to the next page. You'll see that you can choose whatever credit card you would like to use.
