WE'VE HAD REQUESTS FOR THIS PROJECT
soup

It's a few weeks before you have to cook another feast, and constantly shopping online can make you dizzy.  Instead, try something fun and artistic.

So many of you have wanted to make this project once you saw Louise's vests.  Rather than teach it to only a few of you, we decided to make the techniques available to everyone.  She used applique and faux sashiko stitching to create her fabulous vests, and I've posted 2 blogs to explain the details at Stitch to Style.   I explained how to create and apply your appliques in the first blog, then I talked about materials and technique for faux sashiko in the second blog.

Please also take a look at the Home Page to see more photos of the vests as well as close-up photos of the appliques and stitching.  They'll provide lots of inspiration.

First, let's look at the vests.

To see more photos and learn about all the techniques needed to make your own piece of wearable art, read the 2 most recent blogs at Stitch to Style.

We've selected appropriate fabrics and put them all on sale till 8 p.m. Eastern on Friday, December 10.  This first group is for the vest.

Louise says to think about making a shirt out of that last fabric above, then making your vest in black linen with the appliques cut from the same fabric as the shirt.  You'll come up with lots of great ideas as well.

And these fabrics will work well for the appliques.  They're all on sale until 8 p.m. Eastern on Friday, December 10.

FACEBOOK FORUM
So many of you have joined us for fun and learning on the Facebook Forum.  However, many of you who have said you want to join have not answered the 3 sewing-related questions.  We'd love to have each of you be able to get in, but that can't happen if you haven't answered the questions.  Please be sure to answer, because we'd like to know each of you.

SAMPLES
Please confine your sample requests to 3 per order
.  That allows us to give you the same prompt service you are used to.  Also, remember that if you ask for a sample of a fabric that's on sale, the sale may be over before the sample gets to you through the mail.

A REMINDER
If you are searching for a specific fabric on the website and you know the number of it, be sure to put a 5-digit number in the search box.  Examples:  00532 or 01379.  You don't need to include the letters (FF) with the numbers.

SHIPPING
We want to assure you that we fill all your orders and ship them quickly.  It seems that there are some delays with mail service at this time, both within the country and to other countries, so it may take a bit longer than usual for your orders to reach you.  However, we are doing our part to send them promptly.

PaypalBy the way, we've heard that a few of you have thought that you had to have a PayPal account to order from us online. That's not the case. Even though you'll see "Check out with PayPal" on one of the order pages, just click on it to go to the next page. You'll see that you can choose whatever credit card you would like to use.
