Just barely off-white, this is a lovely and interesting cotton shirtweight.  It is designed to emulate the work of one of Japan's most famous quilters.  She tends to cut even the backgrounds of her quilts into small pieces, the insert other small colored pieces--in this case, white, black, and dark red.  On the black pieces you can see little white lines, which indicate the hand-stitching in her quilts.  I've seen dresses, skirts, shirts, blouses, tunics, and shells made from these fabrics.
