Do you remember bark cloth from the 50's? I hate to say that I do--and this Japanese cotton dobby reminds me of my childhood. The design of solid and outlined leaves in green, white, and brown is a bit mid-century modern. Typically in a dobby, there are heavier threads woven in both lengthwise and crosswise, and their texture adds interest to this light/midweight cotton. It would make great shirts that can double as light jackets, tops, shells, and vests. I could even see a pencil skirt from this.
