The black background of this Japanese dobby is covered by tiny gray dots.  Here and there are flowers whose petals vary: some are solid black, some are covered by tiny beige dots, and the center has purple stripes.  Small beige circles nestle in the center.  Leaves are dark purple and red violet.  You can use the reverse side as well; it's solid black. The fabric is lightweight, but occasional thicker threads qualify this as a dobby that will resist wrinkling.  As a cotton, this is a crisp fabric and will work well for shirts (layer them over shells), tops, vests, shells, and dresses.
