Cotton sateen uses a satin weave, but it is obviously made of cotton fibers.  It shares a smooth, slightly shiny surface with satin, while the "wrong" side has a dull finish.  This one is almost as light as a shirtweight, but it has 3% lycra in it, so it has just a bit more beefiness than shirting and a bit of stretch on the crossgrain.  The colorful stripes vary from 1/4" to 5/8" wide, and contain many hues:  yellow, gold, purple, violet, various shades of blue, rust, brown, orange, red, pink, various greens, tans, and black, all on a white background.  It's really fun.  Make tops, shirts, shells, vests, tunics, dresses, pants, and pencil skirts.
