Many of the fabrics from Japan have innovative designs, and this is one of them.  From the center fold to one selvedge, this linen/cotton blend is printed with gray diagonal stripes (about 1/2" wide) on a beige background.  From the center fold to the other selvedge edge, the fabric is black, with the original beige showing through as letters and numbers.  It would be great fun to play around with design placement on a vest or light jacket.
