A Pattern Hack for Late Summer and Fall Sewing

I love View B of Simplify Your Life as is.  But I've blogged about a great pattern hack that results in a quick sew for a new top in a hurry.  On the Home Page, click on the green Stitch to Style rectangle to go straight to the blog.  Read the entry from 6/22/20 for all the info.  Here's why:

Simplify Your Life
Take a close look at View B.  You'll see the buttons fastening the left shoulder.  It's a great detail, but sometimes it's nice to "Simplify Your Life" by eliminating the buttonholes and buttons.  Try this version--I think you'll like it!

Simplify Your Life
No buttons on the left shoulder, but a great-looking, versatile top to wear alone, under a jacket, in a variety of fabrics.
Of course, View A is also great-looking, so consider it for spring and summer also.  We've made it in so many fabrics from denim to cotton to linen.  Try it out!

A Little Winter Inspiration
All these jackets are made from one pattern.  It's easy to achieve variety just by selecting different fabrics and lengthening the pattern.

All of these jackets are wool.  The multi-colored one to the left is wool boucle, and it's finished inside with Hong Kong finishes on all the seam allowances.  Louise wanted to play around a bit with the black and white coat above, so the back facing (easy to draft as an option) is made of red silk.  All these jackets were made from the By Popular Demand pattern.  It's one of our most versatile styles.  Have fun!!
