White threads and black threads have been combined in this dobby weave of cotton. A dobby weave is woven on a special loom that allows groups of threads to be lifted as they are being woven, resulting in a pattern being incorporated into the fabric. In this case, small motifs have been woven into a solid background. So the fabric is white on one side, with black motifs, while the other side is the opposite. The fabric is double-sided as a result. Lightweight and soft, this will be a very comfortable fabric to wear. It's great for shells, blouses, dresses, shirts, tops, and unstructured vests.
