White cotton sateen (with a little lycra for stretch on the crossgrain) is a summer standout.  It can work for pants and for shirt/jackets, as well as vests, tops, and shells, even a pencil skirt. The lycra helps minimize wrinkles, but it doesn't necessarily mean that a smaller size is better.  Your regular size will just have a bit more comfort and fewer wrinkles.  The sateen weave produces a very smooth surface, as the lengthwise threads "float" on the surface; both the appearance and the feel are enhanced.
