Cross-dyed linens add an extra dimension to linen.  In this case, the lengthwise threads are dark blue, and the crosswise threads are turquoise.  The overall effect has much greater interest than a solid color.  This is a fairly lightweight linen from Italy, so the quality is really nice.  Make tops, shells, shirts, tunics, blouses, or dresses that will be so comfortable in summer heat.
