The weave of this silk varies over its surface. Squares appear in an organza weave, a duppioni weave, and a couple of other variations. They also vary by the amount of light they let through, so some are almost transparent while others are opaque. Overall, the fabric is ecru--some might call it candlelight. It's really beautiful. I've seen stoles made from this, but it would also be a fabulous shirt or jacket for a wedding or other special occasion. (The second photo shows the fabric lying on a green background so you can see the variations.)
