The base of this slightly off-white fabric is silk organza, and the dark portions of the photos show the see-through areas of the weave. Then diagonal areas of silk shantung are woven into the organza, lending their sheen to the surface. Finally, "eyelashes" of a stiffer fiber are woven into the margins of the silk shantung. The result is a complex and exceptionally beautiful fabric which could make a simple garment with few seams. Try a lovely jacket.
