This is a mercerized, 3-ply cotton thread suitable for use on all fabrics except leather and swimsuits that will be worn in chlorinated water.  
It has a slight sheen, and once it is sewn into a seam and pressed, it melds with the fabric, making it pliable and smooth.
It works well for garment construction as well as edgestitching and topstitching.
