Plum is the overall color of this cotton dobby from Japan.  Wide lengthwise bands interrupt the plum background.  They are composed of narrow crosswise stripes of tiny light grey dots and medium gray rods.  But the major attraction is the large 3"-4" circles composed of lovely Asian designs incorporating flowers of all kinds and colors like violet, mauve, grey, and bright yellow.  The dobby weave incorporates heavier threads both lengthwise and crosswise, making this a cotton that wrinkles far less than cottons usually do.   Make vests, light jackets, tops, shells, tunics, shirts, or dresses.
