The narrow lengthwise stripes on this cotton dobby from Japan are light and medium grey, taupe, tan, and one stripe in a dark reddish brown. Large flowers scattered over the fabric are charcoal with bright white outlines that make them really pop. Some have red centers, some have white. Other flowers are medium gray, while the leaves are olive green. There are also stripes of smaller flowers in the same colors as well as bright red, and yellow centers brighten many of those. The cotton dobby weaves are characterized by some thicker lengthwise and crosswise threads in the smoother surface, and they seem to be reason that these fabrics tend to need very little ironing. Their light/midweight makes them ideal for structured vests, tops, shirts that can double as jackets, pants, dresses, tunics, and shells.
